The association between cartoon superhero Mighty Mouse and Damon Stoudamire, the diminutive star of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, forms the storyline of a new 30-second television commercial promoting Nike sportswear.
Mighty Mouse, who appears as a tattoo on Stoudamire’s right forearm, comes to life in the commercial when the tattoo becomes animated and flies off Stoudamire’s arm and then interacts with live footage of the Raptors’ guard on the basketball court.
Mighty Mouse g’es zipping between the legs of teammates and opponents and cheers Stoudamire to victory. The spot includes a group of animated mice congratulating Stoudamire with high fives.
The commercial was produced by Duck Soup Produckions of Los Angeles. The ad agency is Wieden and Kennedy of Portland, Oregon.
