Toy manufacturer Hasbro has created a new senior executive position, director of retail promotions, to help in developing special events and promotions.

Filling the spot is Jan Rimmel, most recently director of retail marketing for the Marvel Entertainment Group, where he helped create promotions and strategic alliances in support of Marvel properties.

Rimmel will work with Hasbro sales and marketing teams, licensees and retailers to develop retail chain-specific events and promotions.

Rimmel’s job will be to help ensure that Hasbro brands receive the retail support and visibility necessary to deliver successful retail programs in today’s competitive marketplace, according to John Gildea, Hasbro vice president of corporate licensing and promotions.

Hasbro markets products under such names as Playskool, Kenner, Tonka, Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers and Hasbro International.
