STOCKHOLM: Nickelodeon recently announced its launch of a commercial-free kids channel in Scandinavia. The channel will broadcast daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Swedish and will transmit to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Plans for programming in local languages and an English track are also in the works. Programming includes shows from Nick’s library and first-run shows such as Stickin’ Around, Mother Goose & Grimmy, Wishbone and The Magic School Bus, as well as international and regional acquisitions. Swedish production company FILMIA is working with Nick to create a series of segments featuring kids throughout Sweden.
