*Thomas the Tank Engine and Mumfie leave PBS for Fox Family Channel
Gullane Pictures, a recently formed production and distribution company under the auspices of The Britt Allcroft Co., has licensed Shining Time Station and Britt Allcroft’s Magic Adventures of Mumfie to Fox Family Channel. Both shows will air in fall 1998.
*Mickey goes back to work
Mickey Mouse is coming out of animation retirement to begin work on MouseWorks, a 22-minute cartoon series set to debut in January 1999. This will be the first time since the 1950s that an animation team will be devoted to creating cartoons featuring the septuagenarian mouse.
