Carlton Television and The Jim Henson Company have teamed up for the first time ever. The result of the joint effort will be 130 episodes of a new preschool series, Mopatop’s Shop, scheduled to run on ITV in two separate blocks next year. The series will be filmed in the U.K., but a range of body and hand puppets will be made in New York by The Jim Henson Company.

The creative concept revolves around a zany shop run by life-size puppet Mopatop and his sidekick, Puppyduck. Henson will handle worldwide TV sales and international licensing and publishing, while Carlton will handle licensing and publishing in the U.K.
