Vancouver’s Mainframe Entertainment is giving an 18th century literary character a makeover for IMAX screens worldwide. The studio responsible for CGI animated TV series such as Reboot and Beast Wars, is in pre-production on a 3-D animated, stereoscopic screen adaptation of Jonathan Swift’s age-old classic, Gulliver’s Travels. Mainframe plans to do all the animation in-house, and has the film slated for release in the year 2000. When completed, the new Gulliver will stand eight storeys tall, and will reflect values and attitudes of the 21st century. Land ho, man.
