Paperback packager Parachute Press has snapped up the rights to the Olsen twins’ Two of a Kind TV series, with plans to release 12 new titles starting this February. The multimillion-dollar book program is a joint creation of Parachute and Dualstar Publications, and the titles will be published by HarperCollins’ new HarperEntertainment imprint. The illustrated books target kids ages nine to 13 and will extend the storylines of the popular Dualstar Productions series currently airing in the U.S. on ABC. The TV series is produced in association with Miller Boyett Warren Productions for Warner Bros. Television, and the book project will be co-ordinated with Warner’s consumer products.

HarperEntertainment has also acquired Scholastic’s The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley series, which already has over 5 million copies in print, and the You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s Party book series, which has published 2 million copies. Twelve titles will be added to New Adventures and an additional 6 titles will include books from You’re Invited.
