The Jim Henson Company and Carlton Television, co-production partners on the new show Mopatop’s Shop, have struck the first licensing deal for the program. The pair have signed Vivid Imaginations to manufacture and distribute a line of toys based on the series’ characters, a group of gregarious puppets. Mopatop’s Shop debuts on ITV this month as a series of 10-minute spots set in a magical store that sells everything. Production is underway on 130 episodes. The Vivid line of toys are due out early 1999.
