More than 10 years have passed since the purple dinosaur first asked kids to come play with him, and the Barney merchandise just keeps on coming. This month’s Toy Fair will see Hasbro introduce a 1999 line of all-new Barney products. In the spring, Play Along Barney, billed as ‘the most technologically advanced product in its price range,’ stomps out with a US$27.99 approximate retail price to greet kids ages 12 months and up, and Barney Pop-Up Stacker, for kids 18 months and up, hits shelves at US$7.99. Streeting in the fall, Sing `N Strum Barney, also targeted at kids 18 months and up, debuts with a US$39.99 estimated price, Barney Song Magic Bongos beat for the 2 and up crowd for roughly US$24.99, and Barney Poppin’ Surprise Treehouse lowers its ladder for kids 9 months and up with a US$12.99 price tag.
