Dallas, Texas-based game publisher The Gathering of Developers will soon have PC gamers standing alone in the corner, with titles based on The Blair Witch Project due out in summer 2000. Gathering acquired exclusive, worldwide computer and vid game rights to the property from Artisan Entertainment and Orlando, Florida-based Haxan Films. The deal encompasses game development for PC and an unspecified console platform.

Montreal-based Ubi Soft struck a deal with Japanese game publisher Video System to produce games for the Formula One World Championship `99 and 2000 seasons. The multiformat, international deal includes games for PCs, Color Game Boy, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PlayStation and next-gen Sony and Nintendo consoles.

Gameco Activision of Santa Monica, California acquired worldwide publishing rights to Sony PlayStation title Alundra 2, excluding Japan, which Sony Computer Entertainment will manage. Activision will release the RPG for ages 12 and up in spring 2000 with a price tag of US$49.95. The game’s predecessor sold 100,000 units State-side.

Sega of America is getting ready to release the sequel to Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast by Christmas 2000. Other in-house Dreamcast titles for 2000 include Crazy Taxi, Chu Chu Rocket and sporting ensemble NFL 2K1, NBA 2K1, NHL 2K and F355 Challenge.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater streets in March for US$29.95 on Color Game Boy and for US$59.95 on Nintendo 64. The Activision title geared to ages 12 and up boasts true-to-life skateboarding with a competitive two-player, split-screen option, as well as multiple player options. The Sony PlayStation version shipped in October.

Britain’s CITV went on-line, teaming up with Workhouse, the new media division of Zenith Entertainment, for the late October launch of www.citv.co.uk. The site features links to kids shows, e-mail, chats and games related to the CITV brand.

California-based Eruptor.com, a 2-D and 3-D site geared to tween boys ages 12 and up inked a content deal with L.A. comic co. Top Cow, giving eruptor.com the right to produce on-line shows based on Top Cow characters. The Web site launched in late October.

LearningSoft, a software company out of Miami, Florida, soft-launched a kids Spanish-language edutainment site, Jugamos.com (www.jugamos.com), in November. Through an exclusive partnership with Madrid, Spain-based publisher Santillana, the site features Santillana-branded educational material and games.

On-line content provider Honkworm of Seattle, Washington has inked a distribution deal with Internet animation company Camp Chaos, giving Honkworm non-exclusive distribution rights for Camp Chaos’s future and current content.
