Saying it wants to focus solely on developing programming, Brit prodco Scottish Television Enterprises (STE) has decided to

outsource international distribution of its shows, including kids programs like How 2, to fellow U.K.-based distribco Minotaur International, a subsidiary of cable and satellite carrier Flextech. The move effectively nixes Cascade, STE’s own distribution arm, which it had formed in `98 with Irish broadcaster RTE and Australian prodco Barron Entertainment. Donald Emslie, managing director at STE’s parentco Scottish Media Group, says the size of Minotaur’s catalog and its international reach will greatly enhance the chances of its programs being sold into new territories. Minotaur took over control of distribution from Cascade last month. Terms of the agreement between STE and Minotaur have not been released.
