Kids show Jellabies and Friends jiggled its way into a full half-hour on Fox Family Channel last month, and the property is set to roll out a U.S. merch program with a generous spread of licensees.

Last year, the Fox Family’s viewers got a small taste of the Jellabies in 10-minute segments, and their popularity among preschoolers prompted U.K.-based property owner Just Entertainment to expand the program. Jellabies and Friends is a 3-D CGI series produced by Optical Image Broadcast and distributed internationally by Winchester Entertainment (both out of the U.K.). Currently sold to broadcasters in over 40 territories, the series follows the adventures of Bouncey, Denny, Coral, Amber, Strum, Pepper and their dragon buddy Duffy in Jolly Jelly World-a colorful land that floats on a sea of jelly.

Just Licensing, sister division of Just Entertainment and wholly-owned subsidiary of Just Group, has launched an extensive licensing program based on the Jellabies. With over 70 worldwide licensees, product is expected to begin U.S. market distribution in the near future. Licensees include: Just Group subsidiary Jusco Toys (master toy); ACI International (shoes); American Basics (underwear); American Greetings (party supplies); Cadbury International (candy); Drew Pearson (headwear); Freeze (T-shirts); IMT Accessories (underwear/toiletries); Kidz Toys (electronic musical instruments); PMS International (stationery/toys); Pyramid Accessories (umbrellas, backpacks, luggage); Readers Digest (publishing); Rubie’s (costumes); and United Legwear (socks/tights).

The series began airing on Fox Family Channel in October, with certain episodes featuring 10-minute samplers of new-to-the-U.S.-market series Star Hill Ponies. The stop-frame animation series chronicles the adventures of Beatrice Anastasia Zenobia Watkins and her three pony friends on Star Hill Farm. The series’ three horse characters are already available as vinyl figurines in Kaybee stores nationwide in the U.S. through master toy licensee Jusco Toys.
