Baby Einstein goes to Playskool
The Baby Einstein Company recently announced a three-year licensing deal with Hasbro, under which Hasbro’s Playskool division will work with Baby Einstein to develop, manufacture and market co-branded developmental toys. The music of Mozart and Bach, the poetry of Shakespeare and the art of Van Gogh were inspiration for the first four toys in a line of electronic learning products based on the arts. Look for them at retailers such as Toys `R’ Us, Target and Wal-Mart this fall.

Monkeybone puts in plushy appearance at Toy Fair
The wacky animated monkey from Twentieth Century Fox’s newest film Monkeybone makes his Toy Fair debut in 18-inch poseable plush nearly two weeks before the film’s February 23 release. Licensee Sideshow’s Monkeybone plush (SRP US$29.95) will hit specialty retail this month. Sideshow will also release Little Big Heads, 10- and 18-inch plush and bendies based on the film’s diverse cast of characters. Other Monkeybone licensees include Changes, Animated Art Agent, Dark Horse Comics and C&D Visionary.
