Jackie Chan Adventures in Burger King
A QSR promo for Sony Pictures Family Entertainment/Kids’ WB! co-pro Jackie Chan Adventures kicks off in over 8,000 Burger King stores nationwide at the end of this month. During the four-week promo, Burger King will distribute millions of premium items, offering two different figurines per week, one Jackie Chan and one villain. The Jackie Chan toys interact with the villain toys, emphasizing the role-play element of the series. The promo will be supported by a multimillion-dollar ad campaign including an extensive TV media buy and in-store point of sale and point of purchase incentives.
Peter Cottontail hops down the Pillsbury promo trail
The Pillsbury Company will help Golden Books Family Entertainment celebrate Peter Cottontail’s 30th anniversary this Easter with an in-store campaign featuring GBFE’s classic character. Running in thousands of mass-market retailers and grocery stores from March until Easter, the cross-promotion includes a GBFE Peter Cottontail point-of-sale display featuring a giant plush header and Easter basket with Golden Books Easter titles and Peter Cottontail plush. A tear-off pad of instant-save coupons on the basket offers consumers US$1 off Pillsbury’s Refrigerated Shape Cookies with the purchase any two GBFE Easter book titles. A second coupon offer will be inserted into 100,000 GBFE Here Comes Peter Cottontail videos, good towards any Golden Books title with the purchase of two Shape cookie doughs. To further shape the promo, Pillsbury has created a Peter Cottontail package for its Easter Holiday Shape cookie dough with a pink bunny center.
Advance scoop on cool Fox promo; Malcolm’s in the middle of his
Bart Simpson may have stopped telling people to eat his shorts many eps ago, but now Fox is in the final stages of negotiations with Nestlé and Haagen Daz on a Butterfinger ice cream promo asking consumers to find them. The promo is expected to come out of refrigeration this April.
Fox’s Scholastic-sponsored Malcolm in the Middle Gotta Get on the Set Sweepstakes, which kicked off in January, continues this month until April and offers one grand prize winner an all-expense-paid trip to L.A. to visit the series set. A hundred second place winners receive a Malcolm in the Middle prize pack, complete with a full set of Malcolm books, a Frankie Muniz (Malcolm) portrait and posters from the show. Entry forms are available through bookstore displays, book clubs, at book fairs and in the back of book titles Malcolm in the Middle #3: The Bad Luck Charm (January) and Malcolm in the Middle #4: The Exchange Student (due in March).
