Blasphemin’ bad-boy rapper Eminem is taking his act to the world of toys. The artist known for his expletive-laden anthems on teen alienation has signed an agreement with Brooklyn-based toyco Art Asylum, which will develop three seven-inch action figures based on the controversial singer’s multiple personas-the aforementioned Eminem, Marshall Mathers and Slim Shady. All three of the dolls-including Slim Shady, which wields a chainsaw-will be available with a stand (US$12.99) and without (US$9.99). Art Asylum, whose other toy credits include creating dolls of Iron Maiden’s mascot, Eddie, and rocker Ozzy Osbourne, is also gunning for the toy rights to a theatrical biopic of Eminem’s life, which reportedly will be produced by Imagine Entertertainment’s head honcho Brian Grazer. Slim Shady et al will hit toy and music specialty retailers in July.
