Dual-screen handheld demo ready for play at E3

Nintendo is getting ready to launch a new portable system that will let gamers do things in real time thanks to its two separate screens. Tentatively called the Nintendo DS, the handheld will feature two three-inch TFT LCD display panels, a separate processor and a semiconductor memory of up to one gigabyte. The platform will support both Nintendo-developed software and third-party games and will hit shelves by Q4 2004.

DIC streams on-line with Yahoo!

In an effort to drive more viewers to its three-hour DIC Kids Network programming block currently airing on 450 stations in the U.S., DIC Entertainment has signed on with web portal Yahoo! to create a subsidiary site exclusively featuring streaming content from DIC’s library, including episodes of Liberty’s Kids, Super Duper Sumos, Inspector Gadget and Madeline. DIC and Yahooligans! (the kid-friendly homepage that Yahoo! launched in 1996) are also developing advertising and cross-promotional campaigns that will involve on-line elements and on-air promotion on DKN.
