BBC Worldwide (London, England, 44-208-330-8000): Helen McAleer will be ordering new business cards to reflect her promotion from director to deputy managing director of children’s at BBC Worldwide. McAleer will continue to be responsible for brand development, marketing and the acquisition of intellectual properties, and the U.S. market will be a key focus as the team prepares to launch Little Robots on Cartoon Network and Charlie and Lola on Disney Channel.

To set up a State-side point-person for these efforts, BBCWW has rejigged Susanna Pollack’s role, promoting her from director of U.S. co-production sales to VP of children’s business development. Working out of the New York office, Pollack will manage the cross-media strategic rollout of BBC’s kids brands in the region, while still keeping her eyes peeled for co-production opportunities.

DIC Entertainment (Koln, Germany, 49-221-945-2602): Kerstin Guehne has returned to DIC’s international sales team after a year’s absence. The former VP of international distribution for the German and Scandinavian territories left DIC in 2004 to teach management and economics at the European College Fresenius in Germany. Working under a new, slightly widened handle as VP of international television and home entertainment sales, Guehne will push DIC’s properties in Germany and Central Europe.

DreamWorks Animation Consumer Products (Glendale, California, 818-695-5000): As the lines between licensing and marketing continue to get hazier and hazier, the studio’s merch unit has poached Susan Spencer from her VP of local sales and marketing position at Universal to lead its buzz-building efforts as head of national promotions. Spencer will develop and implement U.S.-centric marketing programs for DreamWorks’ slate of animated and live-action films, as well as its home video and television assets. She’ll also be scouting for product placement opportunities. The studio’s newest recruit replaces Wendy Ryding, who is relocating to the East coast, but has agreed to stay on as a consultant for the rest of the year as Spencer settles in.

Entertainment Rights (London, England, 44-208-762-6260): After devoting a decade to building MTV’s global business, most recently serving as executive VP of international programming enterprises, Kathleen Hricik has jumped ship to join Entertainment Rights as executive VP and managing director for North and Latin America. Working out of New York, Hricik will plan and oversee the company’s TV, home entertainment and licensing activities, and an immediate goal will be to support the launch of Postman Pat on HBO Family with marketing and consumer products programs.

Icon Animation (Barcelona, Spain, 34-93-265-0757): The Iberian toon shop has snapped up sales veteran Christophe Goldberger, who last served as head of business affairs for France Animation’s commercial division Moonscoop. As Icon’s director of distribution and marketing, Goldberger will distribute 500-plus hours of programming produced by Icon and culled from third parties.

MTV Networks Latin America (Miami, Florida, 305-535-3700): With Latin America’s wireless and web-based markets growing up quickly, MTV has upped Luis Goicouria from senior director of new media to VP of digital media. As such, he’ll lead the charge to expand the presence of the Nickelodeon brand and properties on new wireless and on-line platforms. Goicouria orchestrated a SpongeBob SquarePants deal with Brazilian mobile operator VIVO to promote the character’s film debut in the region last year.

In TV news, Tatiana Rodriguez has been named VP of programming and creative strategy for Nick Latin America as part of a restructuring that has seen the company assign brand experts to each of its broadcast franchises. Rodriguez, who used to be VP of programming and acquisitions, will now devote more of her working hours to championing the Nickelodeon brand in the region.

Sesame Workshop (New York, New York, 212-595-3456): Elmo and Big Bird have a new boss on the Street with Carol-Lynn Parente’s promotion from senior to executive producer on the U.S. production of Sesame Street. She’s charged with sourcing new characters to reinvigorate the show as it heads into its 37th season, as well as adopting new animation and post-production technologies.

Teletoon Canada (Toronto, Canada, 416-956-2030): Having put in three years as the animation network’s director of marketing and production, Leslie Krueger has been promoted to VP of marketing. Her new remit will center around expanding the Teletoon brand through sales promotions and on-line media. Kruger is credited with helping to launch the network’s L&M and home entertainment businesses.

TV-Loonland (Munich, Germany, 49-89-2050-8100): Irina Ignatiew, the former international sales head of Tandem Communications in Munich, has left to join TV-L as sales manager for TV and home entertainment in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
