Tiger gives tweens a gadget fix

Continuing its quest to serve tech-savvy tweens, Hasbro's Tiger Electronics is releasing two additions to its roster of multimedia gadgets. First up later this month is the portable system VuGo, which comes with 128 MB of memory and holds up to 60 minutes of video, six hours of music or 1,200-odd photos. (The handheld's internal memory can also be extended with a standard universal memory card.) Like it did with VideoNow, Hasbro is compiling a library of TV series and specials (specific titles were still top-secret at press time) to feed into the system, and this content will be available on-line at www.vugo.com for US$4.99 to US$7.99 per half hour. Looking ahead to next year, Tiger is launching the ZoomBox portable projector (US$299), which has a built-in DVD and CD player and will project a 60-inch image on the wall or ceiling. The projector comes with AV cables for easy hook-up to most video game consoles, video cameras, digital cameras and cable boxes.
