Nickelodeon is launching a new TV block today that draws from online counterpart Nick.com. For two hours every weekday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Nickelodeon’s Me:TV will feature content uploaded by audience members to its main website.

Hosted by Alexandra Gizela and Jordan Carlos, the block features four kids live on-air via webcam, online voting, gaming, giveaways and celebrity guests. It takes cues from current Nick shows U-Pick Live and Slimetime Live, using a live studio audience and kid participation through instant messaging, phone calls and internet message boards to up the interactive quotient. Kids are encouraged to submit their videos to www.nick.com/metv, where they will be rated and shared by the community, à la YouTube. Unlike the adult-oriented site, however, Me:TV is being heavily monitored and moderated, and the net requires parental permission before it will put any user-generated content on air.
