Nickelodeon has confirmed that Nick Jr. Magazine will cease publication after the June issue. The announcement, which affects a 20-person staff, came on the heels of last week’s Viacom/MTV layoff of 250 people.
The magazine started up in 1999 and was published nine times a year, focusing on the under-nine demo and their parents. At last count, the title’s circulation stood at roughly a million subscribers.
Nickelodeon Magazine, which targets six- to 14-year-olds, is in its 14th year and has a subscription base of more than six million. It will continue to publish 10 times a year.
