Christmas kind to Jakks, Q4 sales shoot up 43.3%

L.A. toyco Jakks Pacific announced a fourth-quarter net sales increase of 43.3% over the same period in 2005 as it released its earnings this morning. Despite the hoopla that's been building around the youth electronics category over the past year, Jakks CEO Jack Friedman pointed to strong performances in traditional categories including dress-up, role play, action figures, dolls and plush as driving the Q4 bump to US$26.9 million in net income.
