BBC Worldwide Australasia has closed its first international sale of Ragdoll’s In the Night Garden to New Zealand’s TVNZ, while BBCW US has secured its first deal with Discovery Kids en Espanol for Fimbles from Novel Entertainment.
The license for 100 x 30-minute eps of surreal live-actioner Night Garden begins on April 1, but so far, TVNZ hasn’t nailed down an air date. In the UK, the show is earmarked to anchor Cbeebies’ new Bedtime Hour block when the net’s refresh bows on March 19.
Fimbles has been broadcast in 41 countries, but the Spanish-dubbed version launching May 6 on Discovery Kids en Espanol marks the live-action preschool show’s US debut.
