Casual gaming is turning out to be the bread-and-butter of many sites aimed at under-12 web denizens, who can’t seem to get enough of the snack-sized games. CartoonNetwork.com has just upped the ante in the genre with the launch of its Gadget Games series, which aims to fully immerse participants in online activity. The first title, Loco Motion, stems from CN series My Gym Partner’s a Monkey.

By integrating a webcam into its game play, Loco lets players physically drive the action in a vine-climbing race against show characters including Jake Spidermonkey. Kids move their hands in a climbing motion in front of their webcams and watch their avatars move up the virtual vine. The faster the player moves, the faster their guy reaches the top on-screen.

Cartoonnetwork.com is already home to 150 free games and applications. The next Gadget Game will boast a sound feature that players can use to speak directly to CN characters. It should roll out sometime this quarter.
