The House of Mouse has begun production on its new live-action sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place for Disney Channel.
The series centers on a multicultural family putting three kids through wizard training. Former child actor Fred Savage is onboard to direct the first two episodes of Wizards, which was created by Hannah Montana scribe Todd J. Greenwald. L.A.’s It’s A Laugh Productions is co-producing the series, which will debut on Disney Channel US in fall 2007, before rolling out across the company’s international web of kidnets.
