• UK broadcaster ITV is continuing to cut kids programming on main channel ITV1 and has reduced its yearly airtime commitment to the demo from eight hours a week to roughly five.
• Toronto-based artist and filmmaker Howie Shia won this year’s Open Entries Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. Flutter, the story of two children involved in the world of graffiti art, is the first non-Asian production to win the prize. Shia wrote, directed, scored and animated the film.
• New eps of Cyberchase will premiere April 16 to 19 on PBS Kids Go! The stunt kicks off an online contest based around the series at www.pbskidsgo.org/cyberchase.
