• Netherlands-based Telescreen has scored three new TV sales for Lizzie McGuire. Happy TV (Serbia), Cinetel (Hungary) and New Channel (Ukraine) all picked up 65 half hours; additionally Disney (Taiwan, Japan), TG4 (Ireland), Tele Amazones (Equador) and Ketnet (Belgium) have opted to renew their licenses for the series.
• Toronto, Canada-based Breakthrough Films and Television ‘s Atomic Betty was awarded the Best Animated Film Award at the NY International Independent Film & Video Awards. The Flash-animated 52 x 30-minute series currently airs on Teletoon in Canada.
• Santa Barbara-based Foothill Entertainment and Toronto, Canada’s Kaleidoscope Entertainment have signed a co-development deal with the UK creators Phew!!Ltd. for the environmentally themed series Snapper. The CGI series will be set in the depths of an Amazon-like jungle and feature a bevy of wild animals.
