Toronto, Canada-based Shaftesbury Films has named Joy Tashjian Marketing Group as the North American licensing agent for tween live-action comedy series Life with Derek.
Tashjian is hammering out the merch plan for the 52 x 30-minute series and should be ready to unveil it at Licensing Show in New York this coming June. Early word is that the company’s looking for partners in all categories with a focus on publishing, electronics, mobile, accessories and apparel with an aim to court the fickle tween demo.
Life with Derek was originally commissioned by Canada’s The Family Channel and has been sold to broadcasters in more than 14 territories and over 114 countries including Disney Channel US, France 2, Disney Channel in Italy, Germany, Latin America, Spain and France, Nickelodeon in Asia and New Zealand and Daro in Central and Eastern Europe.
