National Geographic Kids Entertainment and Paris, France-based Planet Nemo Animation have commenced production on the new animated short series Aloutah.

Set in the Arctic Circle, the 52 x two-minute Flash series is geared towards the seven to 12 year old demo. It follows two siblings Aloutah and MikMak whose imaginations work overtime to stir up adventure amongst their Arctic animal friends.

The series is based on the French comic strip created by Jean Vincent, and the toon interstitials are being designed to work across multiple platforms including TV, broadband and mobile. Planet Nemo is looking after distribution to French-speaking countries, Benelux and Asia.
