One-liners: Noteworthy news nuggets

• San Francisco, California-based VIZ Media has sold 52 eps of anime series Naruto to Chilean terrestrial broadcaster Chilevision, which will bow on the net in the second half of this year.

• The Multimedia Development Corporation, representing 30 Malaysian companies assisted Creative Licence Sdn Bhd in securing a co-production and worldwide distribution agreement for the animated 52 x 11-minute series Hairy Legs, with Southern Star Entertainment. The deal is valued at US$10 million and all production will take place in Malaysia, while the pre-production and post-production will be done in Australia.

Toon Disney in the US has picked up the fifth season of Toei Animation's Digimon for its Jetix block. The new 48 x half hour season, Digimon Data Squad, brings the total number of half hours for the franchise to 253.
