Nickelodeon is the latest company to throw its hat into the Dubai theme park ring.

United Arab Emirate-based Al Ahli Group has announced a partnership with the New York-based Viacom subsidiary for a massive US$1-billion theme park it’s currently developing in the capital of the Middle-Eastern nation.

The AAG Park will now include attractions and promotions centering around Nick’s stable of properties, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Diego and Blue’s Clues. In March, the developers announced a similar partnership with Marvel Entertainment, owner of superhero IPs such as Spider-Man, Superman and The Incredible Hulk.

Details concerning the park’s size and plans for branded Nick and Marvel rides and attractions are still under wraps. However, investors are planning a 2011 opening, with offices in Orlando, Dubai and Hollywood all working towards that goal.
