Nick’s online offshoot AddictingGames.com found out just how engaged its audience is when it added an upload feature for user-generated games recently. The site has received more than 200 game submissions over the past month alone, representing content from 1,000-plus young game creators.
According to Omniture SiteCatalyst’s traffic-tracking data, AddictingGames.com has experienced 100% growth this year. Nick’s sister site Shockwave.com is no slouch either, having grown by 47%. Both AddictingGames and Shockwave attract more than 20 million unique users per month.
Capitalizing on the momentum, Nick has signed new integrated advertising deals for Shockwave that will revolve around Mother’s Day. Nissan is on-board to sponsor the site’s Smilebox photo-sharing application, and HP plans to sponsor a user-generated photo upload program folks can use to submit a Mother’s Day photo that could be featured in the Daily Jigsaw portion of the site.
