Cartoon Network’s first live-action feature Re-Animated will be released on DVD by Warner Home Video on August 21.
The disk will retail for US$14.97 and feature extras including behind-the-scenes footage, outtakes and bloopers. A spin-off Re-Animated series is set to debut on Cartoon Network later this summer.
The two-hour mix of live action and animation scored a ratings hit with CN’s core kids six to 11 demo – garnering 1.2 million viewers when it debuted on the net on December 8, 2006.
Re-Animated is a co-production between Cartoon Network, Renegade Animation and Appleday Pictures and tells the story of seventh-grader Jimmy Roberts, who, after a terrible rollercoaster accident, wakes up with the brain of famed cartoonist Milt Appleday. From then on, Jimmy’s world is populated by Appleday’s wacky comic creations, including Golly Gopher, Crocco the Alligator and Tux the Penguin.
