In a move that might help kick-start the US mobile video market, The Disney-ABC Television Group has signed a multi-year agreement with wireless carrier Sprint that will give US Sprint customers access to a hefty portfolio of Disney Channel content as well as other ABC programs.

Customers can opt to view content on-demand or via one of three streaming channels which broadcast scheduled programming throughout the day. The deal marks the premiere of Disney Channel programming including Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on mobile.

Starting this fall, full-length eps of the Disney Channel shows will also be available on-demand via Sprint mobile handsets. Series episodes will show up on the service the day after they premiere on television. The on-demand offerings will include advertising to keep the per-view prices down.

Content for Disney Channel, including the on-demand and streaming service will be part of Sprint’s Power Vision Access Pack, which will cost US$15 per month on top of regular mobile plans. The pack includes unlimited use of web browsing, picture mail and mobile email.
