Genius Products’ Q1 gross revenues triple

Having launched on an aggressive expansion plan in 2006 that included inking exclusive distribution deals with The Weinstein Company and Sesame Workshop, home entertainment co. Genius Products is beginning to make some revenue gains. For the Q1 period ended March 31, Genius's gross revenues tripled to US$115 million from Q1 2006. And subtracting returns, discount sales and allowances, the company brought in US$83.6 million in net sales.

Having launched on an aggressive expansion plan in 2006 that included inking exclusive distribution deals with The Weinstein Company and Sesame Workshop, home entertainment co. Genius Products is beginning to make some revenue gains. For the Q1 period ended March 31, Genius’s gross revenues tripled to US$115 million from Q1 2006. And subtracting returns, discount sales and allowances, the company brought in US$83.6 million in net sales.

CEO Trevor Drinkwater says the company is poised to generate gross revenues between US$150 and US$175 million in Q2, with a year-end tally between US$700 and US$800 million.
