Gameco Ubisoft’s net profits triple in fiscal ’07

French video game publishing biggie Ubisoft saw a threefold increase in net profits for its fiscal 2006-07 year ended March 31, 2007. The company's haul rose to US$54.4 million from 2005-06's US$16 million take. Meanwhile, overall revenues rang in at US$608.3 million, a sizable jump from last year's US$485 million. Sales of games for next-gen consoles, such as Nintendo's Wii, largely drove the uptick in turnover.
