Tapping into kids deepening love affair with gift cards, booksellers Borders and Waldenbooks are issuing Harry Potter-branded cards in the lead up to the July 21 release of series ender Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Three limited-edition, holographic gift cards will be available at stores nationwide in denominations between US$5 and US$500.

Featuring cover art from the US edition of the seventh book, the cards sport images of Harry and Lord Voldemort, as well as showcase the professor everyone loves to hate, Severus Snape, who appears as friend or foe depending on the viewing angle.

And to reward fans who stay up late to make the midnight in-store purchase of book seven, Borders is offering readers a free Harry Potter poster featuring the US edition’s cover art.
