Nickelodeon and Sony have entered into a mega partnership that will see the two media giants coming together to develop, produce and co-finance TV series and movies and music projects over the next four years.
The original music soundtrack from tween series The Naked Brothers Band will be the first offering from the pair and is slated for retail release this fall. The musical group helmed by real-life brothers Nat and Alex Wolff already has a hit single with Crazy Car, which debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs and has so far racked up 90,000 downloads.
Further details are still being hammered out, but you can expect both companies’ consumer products arms to get involved with upcoming joint projects.
This isn’t the first time Nick and Sony have buddied up; their 2004 joint venture Nick Records was created to produce music CDs for Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans and SpongeBob SquarePants.
