Heard a new buzzword at the Chorion Licensee Summit yesterday that sums up the generation of kids and tweens who are driving their own entertainment experiences. SVP of global brand management Cheryl Gotthelf has dubbed it ‘Generation Self-Ex’ (as in self-expression), and she’s bullish on the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters feeding into the movement as ‘literal shared expressions of emotion.’ For my part, I loved the show’s retro musical bits, and Franco Manufacturing’s bedding range was particularly impressive on the product side.
