The iconic laugh of Woody Woodpecker and his creator Walter Lantz are being lauded with a special presentation of the classic toons at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on July 11 at 7:30 p.m. Following standard operating procedure for the US entertainment capital, a number of stars and voice-talent legends will be on hand to mark the occasion, including award-winning cartoon producer Phil Roman, film critic Leonard Maltin, June Foray (the voice of the wacky Woody), Maurice LaMarche (Brain from the late and lamented Pinky and the Brain) and Billy West (who voiced both Ren and Stimpy).
The event, presented by L.A.-based StoryMakers Studio, is open to anyone wanting to catch Woody toons on the big screen, but will also be broadcast online at www.StoryMakersStudio.com/woodywoodpecker.
