Corus Entertainment posts strong quarter

Toronto, Canada-based Corus Entertainment, parent company of Nelvana and the nation's top kidscaster YTV, posted a 9% gain in Q3 revenues over 2006 figures, bringing in sales of US$187.6 million. The third quarter and year-to-date results were announced by president and CEO of Corus Entertainment John Cassaday earlier this morning.

Toronto, Canada-based Corus Entertainment, parent company of Nelvana and the nation’s top kidscaster YTV, posted a 9% gain in Q3 revenues over 2006 figures, bringing in sales of US$187.6 million. The third quarter and year-to-date results were announced by president and CEO of Corus Entertainment John Cassaday earlier this morning.

Net income for the quarter was also up at US$28.1 million, compared to US$22 million for the same time period last year. Corus Television continues to contribute the lion’s share of revenues, marking quarterly sales of US$103.6 million, up 9% from last year. Moreover, sales of Corus content were up an impressive 34% to US$13.8 million.
