Mattel enjoys strong Q2

With staple brands Fisher-Price and Hot Wheels kicking in double-digit growth, toy giant Mattel has posted a 7% sales increase for Q2. Net income for the quarter is sitting at US$43.1 million, compared to US$37.4 million last year, and net sales are up from US$957.7 million to US$1.02 billion.

With staple brands Fisher-Price and Hot Wheels kicking in double-digit growth, toy giant Mattel has posted a 7% sales increase for Q2.

Net income for the quarter is sitting at US$43.1 million, compared to US$37.4 million last year, and net sales are up from US$957.7 million to US$1.02 billion. Breaking down the lifting by brand, Fisher-Price sales were up 22%, Hot Wheels by 20%, Barbie by 6% and American Girl was down by 10%.
