On Monday, October 22, Nick Jr. will premiere the half-hour interactive series designed to teach two- to five-year-olds Mandarin words and phrases.
Marking the first time the net has featured a Chinese-American intergenerational family, the show centers on a Chinese-American preschooler named Kai-lan, as she learns about her heritage, her extended family and the world around her. It focuses on issues common to the target demo, such as taking turns, disappointments and jealousy, and supports an emotional intelligence curriculum that highlights cause-and-effect thinking in the social/emotional world.
