There is life after TV for the little green dragon known as Tabaluga. The property that reached its peak of popularity in the late 1990s is now getting a new lease on life with a Visa card. German IP owner EM.Entertainment hooked up with Landesbank Berlin to get the dragon’s image, originally designed by musician Peter Maffay, on a prepaid credit card targeting kids over 12.

Lest you think it’s a license to spend for the kiddies, their parents have to sign up for the card available at www.tabalugaland.de. Additionally, credit limits on cards for young adult fans of the character are restricted. And in keeping with the dragon’s motto of giving ‘the gift of happiness,’ a fixed portion of revenue made on each card will be donated to the Tabaluga Children’s Foundation.
