To lead development and growth of its theme park and location-based entertainment business, DreamWorks Animation Consumer Products has appointed Joel Ward to the post of park operation and marketing executive. In this newly created position, Ward will be responsible for building relationships (including maintaining its existing one with Universal Studios) and sussing out worldwide theme-park opportunities for DWA properties.
Ward has 18 years at Universal Studios Hollywood under his belt, and most recently served as VP of brand marketing for the park. He now reports directly to Kerry Phelan, DWA’s head of worldwide consumer products.
