Santa Monica, California-based home video distributor Genius Products reported record revenue and net income numbers for Q2 2007 earlier today. In the three months that ended June 30, the company’s revenue grew by 36% over Q1, to finish at a total of US$113 million.
Chairman Stephen K. Bannon says Q2 revenue was in line with expectations and that the company anticipates it will continue to grow its higher-margin business.
For the second half of the year, the company is forecasting gross revenues of US$490 million.
Currently, Genius is currently gearing up for the video release of numerous Weinstein Company titles as well as Classic Media’s perennial kid faves Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. It’s also looking forward to reaping benefits from new content partnerships with Sesame Workshop and the Discovery Channel.
