The newly dubbed Indie Training Fund has grown by 25% over the last year since indie producers agreed to donate approximately 0.25% of their production turnover to the stash. The fund had total commitments of US$1.5 million this year, compared to US$1.2 million in 2006.

The registered charity was previously known as the Independent Production Training Fund, and it continues to offer free courses, in-house training, subsidised trainees for company placements and subsidised training for their freelance workers under the new moniker.

The majority of the fund is spent on subsidising training for the industry’s freelance workforce.
