Paris-based Xilam Animation has scored a slew of presales for its new 26 x 30-minute Flash-animated sitcom series A Kind of Magic, first featured earlier this year in KidScreen‘s Cool New Shows
roundup for MIPTV.

Currently in production, the comedy toon is due to launch in fall 2008 on France 3, and new deals with Disney Channel (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Asia and Latin America), Mediaset (Italy) and ABC (Australia) should give it a nice wide footprint right out of the gate.

Aimed at six- to 11-year-olds,A Kind of Magic tracks the adventures of a family of fairytale misfits who emigrate from their enchanted environs to the real world in search of a better life.
Worldwide distribution rights to the show belong to Xilam, except for English-speaking territories, which will be handled by London-based Cake Distribution.
