Living up to its name-changing mandate to expand its portfolio outside of animation, Barcelona-based Imira Entertainment, formerly known as Icon Animation, has inked its first live-action distribution agreement with the sale of two series to Spanish broadcasters.

Partnering with ZDF Enterprises, Imira has placed 52 episodes of Wicked Science on RTVE’s TV2 and Clan TV, and 13 eps of The Lost Treasure of Fiji on Clan TV. Both series were co-produced by Australian prodco Jonathan M. Shiff, ZDF and Network Ten.

On the animation front, Disney Channel Spain has picked up all 52 eps of Cyber Group Animation’s penguin-themed CGI series Ozie Boo, Learn to live Together for its Disney Playhouse channel.

Imira’s own Lola & Virginia has been snapped up by Turkish broadcasters TV Andorra and Digiturk. And further promoting the show, the company has signed a deal with Jetix’s girl-skewing magazine Jetix Chic! to feature the property in each monthly issue.

In Portugal, Imira has scored a free TV deal with RTP for Millimages’ Pitt & Kantrop as well as DVD deals with Prisvideo for Lola & Virginia with LNK and 64 Zoo Lane, also from Millimages.
