Classic Brit-TV kids show Swap Shop is making a comeback with Basil Brush performing hosting duties.

Basil’s Swap Shop, created by Kent, England-based The Foundation, begins airing this month on CBBC, and will give a new generation of kids the chance to swap anything from gizmos and gadgets to games and gear. Prank Patrol’s Barney Harwood is co-hosting alongside the cheeky puppet. Episodes will be interspersed with a mix of comedy, jokes, sketches, music, games and visits from celebrities, each bearing something to swap.

Unlike the original format that relied on live phone-ins, the updated version will be driven by the Swap Shop site (www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc), where kids can leave details of their swap and have the chance to be featured on the show. Additionally, the live show will feature Basil Brush chatting on-line with kids who are trading, while also exploring some of the more bizarre and funny transactions taking place.
