Toy titan Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based Hasbro has tapped Bennett Schneir to take on the newly created position of SVP and MD of motion pictures.
Based in L.A., Schneir will serve as Hasbro’s lead creative exec for feature films, focusing on the company’s new six-year strategic partnership with Universal Pictures that’s aiming to turn Hasbro IP such as Monopoly, Candy Land, Clue and Stretch Armstrong into silver screen fare.
Schneir certainly has some Hollywood chops. Most recently he held the post of VP of creative affairs at Robert Zemeckis’ production company ImageMovers, where he worked on a number of CGI-heavy flicks, including The Polar Express, and Monster House.
